Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Buranda grocery store this afternoon.

Around 2.20pm a man entered the Ipswich Road store, approached the attendant demanding cash. The man lifted his shirt revealing the handle of what is believed to be a knife.

The man grabbed a sum of cash and a quantity of tobacco before fleeing on the store.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 183cm tall, short brown hair and a large build. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt and dark trousers.

Police investigations are continuing.
