Police as part of Operation Leichardt have charged three men following investigations into 12 armed robberies in recent months, including a hotel in Rocklea overnight.
It will be alleged at 10pm, two men armed with firearms entered the Ipswich Road premises and stole a sum of cash.
Overnight, search warrants were executed at a residence in Inala and also Collingwood Park, resulting in four people being taken into custody.
Officers will allege the 12 armed robberies occurred between May 5 and October 16 which include:
• May 10 – Wynne Street convenience store, Sunnybank • June 7 – Beaudesert Road second-hand store, Moorooka • June 20 – Stafford Road second-hand store, Stafford • June 29 – King Avenue tavern, Durack • July 2 – Anzac Avenue second-hand store, Kallangur • July 22 – Beaudesert Road second-hand store, Moorooka • August 28 – Beaudesert Road hotel, Moorooka • September 9 – Sinnamon Road hotel, Jindalee • September 16 – Springfield Lake Boulevard hotel, Springfield Lakes • September 23 – Sumners Road tavern, Sumner • October 3 – Ipswich Road hotel, Annerley • October 16 – Ipswich Road hotel, Rocklea
A 17-year-old Inala man is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court charged with seven counts each of armed robbery, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, and deprivation of liberty, five counts of common assault, four counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count each of robbery and stealing.
An 18-year-old Inala man is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court charged with twelve counts of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, eleven counts each of armed robbery and deprivation of liberty, seven counts of common assault, five counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count each of robbery and stealing.
A 24-year-old Inala man is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court charged with twelve counts of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, eleven counts each of armed robbery and deprivation of liberty, seven counts of common assault, five counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count each of robbery and stealing.
Investigations are continuing.
