Police from the Leichhardt Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances around an armed robbery of a bank in Leichhardt yesterday.
About 2:20, (Thursday 17 October 2013), three men gained entry to the bank by smashing a window with a sledge hammer.
The three men gained entry to the safe and stole an amount of cash, before departing in a blue Subaru driven by a fourth man.
No one was hurt during the incident.
A crime scene was established at the location and examined by specialist police.
The first man is described as 185cm tall, 130kg, with a solid build. The second man is described as 175cm tall with a medium build.
The car, which has been confirmed stolen, is described as a late model blue Subaru WRX sedan.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact the police.
