Police from Mount Druitt Local Area Command have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery at a service station at Emerton.

Shortly before 2am today (Wednesday 23 October 2013), a man walked into the service station on Popendetta Road, armed with a weapon.

He allegedly threatened the 21-year-old male employee and demanded cash.

The man took cash before fleeing.

A short time later, police arrested a 24-year-old man at Mt Druitt Railway Station and took him to Mt Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with armed robbery.

He was refused bail and appeared at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Wednesday 23 October 2013), where he was again refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Friday 1 November 2013.
