Police have charged a 14-year-old boy following investigations into the attempted armed robbery of a taxi driver at Woody Point on Friday night.

It will be alleged around 11.30pm two boys approached the male taxi driver on Whytecliffe Parade before producing a knife and demanding he hand over cash.

The man refused their demands and drove away.

A 14-year-old Woody Point boy has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992.
