Police are appealing for witnesses after an alleged attempted armed robbery in Nambucca Heads this morning (Tuesday 29 October 2013).

About 7.30am, police were called to a business on Centenary Parade following reports of an armed man at the premises.

A short time later the man fled the store south towards the Pacific Highway and bushland, empty-handed.

Police searched the area, however were unable to locate the man.

They would like to speak to a man who they believe can assist with their investigations. He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, around 30-years-old, approximately 155cm tall, with black hair and of medium build.

He was last seen wearing a dark coloured jumper and track suit pants.

No one was injured in the incident.
