Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have today arrested a man for conspiring to commit an armed robbery in inner Sydney.

Strike Force Threshing is a Robbery and Serious Crime Squad investigation into a number of armed robberies and aggravated break enter and steals throughout inner Sydney in recent months, including a number of banks and supermarkets.

Investigations have revealed that an armed robbery had been planned in inner Sydney on 16 October 2013, but did not eventuate.

About 12.15pm today (Wednesday 30 October 2013), a 26-year-old man was placed under arrest when he attended Glebe Police Station.

He was charged with face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence, and be carried in conveyance without the consent of owner.

The man, from Glebe, was refused bail to appear at Newtown Local Court today.

Today’s arrest follows the arrest of a 30-year-old man at Marrickville earlier this week and a 20-year-old man at Pyrmont last week.

Inquiries by Strike Force Threshing are continuing.
