Detectives from Prahran Embona are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at an Albert Park service station yesterday morning.
Two male offenders entered the Ferrars Street premises around 2.45am, one armed with a knife, the other believed to be wielding a tomahawk.
The man in possession of the axe, described as being aged around 30-35, made demands for the till whilst the younger male, thought to be in his mid 20s, tried to gain entry to the service area.
The attendant denied the man access behind the counter and as he and the other male fled the store, he stole a number of packets of Tim Tams from the shelf.
The men, who also wore stockings over their heads, were last seen on foot heading east on Bridport Street and are yet to be located.
Investigators are hoping that the men may be identified by their distinctive clothing, in particular the green hooded top worn by the younger of the men.
