Police are renewing their appeal for information following an attempted armed robbery at a newsagency in Darlinghurst last month.

About 6:15pm Wednesday 2 October 2013, a man entered the store on Darlinghurst Road and stated he was armed with a knife and demanded cash.

A short time later, the man fled the scene empty handed in a southerly direction.

No one was injured.

Officers from Kings Cross Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations.

They are renewing their appeal with anyone for information to come forward and would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

Police have released CCTV footage of the man they would like to speak to. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a slim build.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper, sunglasses and shorts.
