Police from Ashfield Local Area Command are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery of a video store at Summer Hill.

About 1.45pm yesterday (Sunday 5 January 2014), a man entered the store on Hardie Avenue armed with a knife.

He demanded money from the 23-year-old female employee before leaving with a sum of cash.

No one was injured.

The man is described as being Caucasian, aged in his late 30s or early 40s, between 165-175cm tall, with a light complexion and thin build. At the time he was wearing a black short sleeve shirt and dark pants.

Police have been told the man was seen leaving in a large white sedan.
