Police from Sutherland Local Area Command have arrested two men following an armed robbery at a service station in Sydney’s south overnight.

About 10.20pm (Monday 6 January, 2014), two men entered a service station on the Princes Highway, Kirrawee, allegedly armed with knives and a baton.

Police will allege they threatened a male employee, demanding money from the cash register.

The employee complied and handed over a sum of cash before the two men left the premises, allegedly getting into a silver BMW.

Police were called and an investigation was immediately commenced.

Officers patrolling the area located a silver BMW heading north on New Illawarra Road, Lucus Heights.

The vehicle was pulled over and the two occupants, aged 23 and 26, were searched.

Officers will allege they located an amount of cash, an extendable baton and clothes in the vehicle.

The men were arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station where they are expected to be charged.
