About 11.15am (Wednesday 15 January 2014), a man entered a bank on George Street and threatened two tellers.

The man fled the location with cash and was last seen walking south along George Street.

Police established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers and detectives.

Officers also conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area, but the man was not found.

Investigations into the matter are continuing and police would now like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 40-50 years of age, approximately 160cm tall, with short sandy/blond hair and of a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved yellow fluorescent shirt with a black shirt underneath, long black pants with a white stripe down the side, white joggers, a black cap with a red-coloured motif on the front and he was carrying a black bag.
