Police are appealing for public assistance after a taxi driver was robbed at Belmore.
About 1am today (Saturday 18 January 2014), a 61-year-old man stopped his taxi on Bridge Road, and waited for a customer with his window down.
A man approached the window and placed an object hidden in his jacket next to the taxi drivers head.
He threatened the man and demanded money.
The man took some cash and fled the scene.
Detectives commenced an investigation and the man has been described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, 180cm tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and beige-coloured shorts.
