Police investigating the armed robbery of a Cannon Hill hotel on Tuesday night have released CCTV images of the incident and an image of a stolen vehicle believed to be linked to the matter.

Around 10.15pm two men entered the Southgate Avenue premises, one armed with a knife, the other with a piece of wood.

The man armed with the knife jumped over the bar and threatened staff, demanding cash and forcing them into an office area.

The other man threatened two patrons, striking one on the ankle with the piece of wood and forcing them to another area of the premises. The man sustained minor injuries.

After taking cash the two men left the premises in an awaiting dark blue 1989 Suburu Legacy which is believed to be the same vehicle pictured in CCTV footage from a service station at Aspley on January 18.

The first man is described as having a dark complexion and was of thin build. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, dark trousers and gloves.

The second man is described as wearing a black hooded jumper with a green, yellow and red ADIDAS logo, grey trousers and blue shoes.

Police are investigating whether the pair is linked to several armed robberies in the South Brisbane area in the past month.
