Three youths have been charged following an armed robbery and pursuit at a take away shop in the State’s west last Friday.

About 2pm (Friday 31 January 2014) police will allege three youths, one armed with a knife, entered the fast food shop in Gulargambone.

They allegedly demanded money from a woman, working behind the counter, and she complied. They also demanded her car keys and allegedly drove from the area in her vehicle.

The woman told a man at the front of the store that she’d just been robbed and they were stealing her vehicle and he got into his car and followed the youths at a distance, directing police to their location.

Police took over the pursuit and they stopped the car a short time later, with all three running from the area.

Police were able to locate the trio nearby and they were arrested.

A 16-year-old youth was charged with robbery whilst armed with offensive weapon and take and drive conveyance.

A 13-year-old youth was charged with robbery whilst armed with offensive weapon, be carried in conveyance and breach of bail offences.

A 12-year-old youth was charged with robbery whilst armed with offensive weapon, be carried in conveyance and breach of bail offences.

All three males were bail refused to appear in a children’s court on Monday 10 February 2014.
