Police are investigating the overnight armed robbery of a Waterford West hotel.

Around 9.20pm two men armed with knives entered the Kingston Road business, threatening a female employee before stealing cash and alcohol.

One of the men is described as approximately 180-185cms with a slim build, and wearing dark knee length shorts and a white polo shirt with vertical stripes.

The second man is described as 170-180cms tall with a medium build and wearing blue jeans and a grey long sleeve pullover.

Both men had their faces covered by material and were armed with a knife.

Staff and patrons inside the establishment were not injured and police investigations are continuing.
