Police are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel on Chambers Flat Road at Marsden overnight.

Around 12.45am two men smashed the front glass door and forced their way into the closed premises.

The pair threatened two staff members with what is believed to be a firearm before tying the employees’ hands behind their backs and stealing a sum of cash.

The men fled the scene on foot.

One of the men is described as being Pacific Islander in appearance, more than 180cm tall, having a muscular build and was wearing a balaclava.

The second man is described as being about 180cm tall with a proportionate build and was wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
