Two teens have been charged following an alleged armed robbery in Unanderra last night.

About 8am (Thursday 6 February 2014), two teenagers entered a service station on the Princes Highway, allegedly armed with a knife.

Police have been told they threatened a 23-year-old male staff member, before fleeing the scene with cash and cigarettes.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and a crime scene was established.

A short time later, police located two teenagers nearby.

They were taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where a 17-year-old boy was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and a 15-year-old boy was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon – accessory after the fact.

The pair was refused bail, to appear at children’s court today (Friday 7 February 2014).

No one was injured during the incident.
