Police are investigating following an armed robbery in Sydney’s south-west.

About 6.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 11 February 2014), a man entered a betting agency on Villawood Road, Villawood, and threatened a 50-year-old female staff member with a firearm.

The man demanded money and then ran from the location.

No shots were fired during the incident and no one was injured.

Police attached to Fairfield Local Area Command, and the Dog Unit, were alerted to the incident and despite extensive patrols of the area, the alleged offender could not be located.

A crime scene was established and examined by forensic specialists and officers continue to investigate.

They would like to speak to a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185cm tall, of a thin build and wearing a long-sleeved shirt.
