Police have charged a man following an alleged attempted armed robbery that occurred this morning in Pialba.

Around 9am, a man entered a convenience store on Watson Street and allegedly produced a knife and made demands for cash.

The 59-year-old male attendant refused his demands and restrained the man until police attended and took the man into custody.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

A 24-year-old Pialba man has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and is due to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court tomorrow.
