Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a hair salon in Sydney’s south was robbed at gunpoint.

About 12.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 26 February 2014), a 37-year-old female hairdresser was at her salon on New Illawarra Road, Bexley North, when a man entered the shop and threatened her with a gun.

Officers have been told the man demanded money, while pointing the gun at her and a customer.

The woman complied and the man ran from the store with cash.

No one was injured.

Police from St George Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Detectives would like to speak to a man described as having an olive complexion, with a medium build, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, about 170-175cm tall.
