Quick work by police and a timely call from a member of the public resulted in the swift arrest of two suspects over a hotel robbery in the northern suburbs last night. Just before 8.30pm, two men wearing balaclavas allegedly robbed the bottle shop of the Playford Tavern while armed with a knife.The men stole alcohol and left on foot. No one was physically harmed during the robbery.Police spotted one of the men walking nearby, allegedly in possession of a knife and alcohol, and arrested him.A description of the second suspect was broadcast to other patrols and on social media and at about 9.30pm a woman reported on the SA Police Facebook page that a man matching that description had just walked down an alley near her house.She was advised to ring the police assistance line and patrols were dispatched to the area. The second suspect was arrested at a nearby address.A 26-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both from Davoren Park, were charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, three counts of acts likely to cause harm and three counts of property damage. The 25-year-old man was further charged with carry offensive weapon.
