Police are investigating the armed robbery of a fast food restaurant in Sydney’s inner west.

About 2pm today (Sunday 2 March 2014), a man entered the restaurant on Bridge Road and approached staff members, telling them he was armed.

The man demanded money before fleeing with a large sum of cash.

Police were alerted and officers from Newtown Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Detectives are investigating the incident and appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance and was wearing a green shirt, jeans and a yellow hat.
