Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station in Sydney’s inner west this morning.
About 1.30am (Thursday 6 March 2014), a man entered the service station on Unwins Bridge Road and threatened the console operator with a machete.
The man demanded money before fleeing with cash. He was last seen walking north on Unwins Bridge Road.
Police were alerted and officers from Newtown Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
The man is described as being of Mederranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his late teens or early 20s, with a chubby build, and black hair.
