Police are investigating after the armed robbery of two fast-food outlets in Sydney yesterday.

About 2.20pm (Thursday 6 March 2014), a man armed with a screwdriver entered a fast-food restaurant on Canterbury Road, Lakemba and jumped the counter.

The man, who had his face concealed, threatened staff members before leaving the shop with cash.

He was seen leaving in a stolen blue Ford Laser with NSW registration SPB-074.

About ten minutes later, a man entered a fast-food restaurant on Liverpool Road, South Strathfield.

Police have been told the man threatened staff members with a screwdriver before leaving on foot with cash.

No one was injured during either incident.

Officers established crime scenes at both locations that were examined by forensic specialists.

After speaking to witnesses at both crime scenes, police obtained a similar description of the man involved; Caucasian appearance, between 30-35 years of age, about 165-175cm tall, with a medium build, short dark hair, wearing a grey long-sleeved top and dark pants.

Police are investigating both incidents and the possibility they may be linked.

The stolen Ford Laser remains outstanding and anyone who sights the vehicle is asked not to approach it, but instead contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
