Townsville Police have charged a teenage girl and a 19-year-old woman following an armed robbery at a service station on Thuringowa Drive early this morning.

It will be alleged that the two girls walked into the service station at around 12.30am and demanded money from the attendant, armed with a knife.

As the attendant complied with their demands, it will be further alleged that one of them stabbed the attendant in the shoulder.

The attendant was transported to the Townsville Base Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Both girls ran from the store, but where located a short while later by police.

A 19-year-old Pioneer woman has been charged with enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and robbery armed and will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court this afternoon.

A 15-year-old Kirwan girl has been charged with enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and robbery armed and will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
