Elizabeth Police are investigating two robberies that occurred overnight in Smithfield. Just after 11.30pm a man entered the On The Run service station on Main North Road armed with a screwdriver. He jumped the counter and grabbed cigarettes and some money. He also confronted a customer and took her handbag. The man is described as Caucasian, wearing a light coloured hooded top, trousers and a mask. At 5am police were then called to the Coles Express service station on the other side of Main North Road after three men armed with a stick took cash. Two men stood at the door while the other man threatened the attendant with a broom handle and money and cigarettes. The man armed with the stick was of slim build, 18-20 years old, wearing a black Everlast hooded top, black shorts, a black backpack, and black and white sneakers with red highlights. The second suspect was wearing a purple hooded top, black track pants, a white bandana over his face, black fingerless gloves and dark coloured shoes. The three men ran off on foot. No one was physically injured in either robbery. Police do not believe the two robberies are linked. – See more at: http://www.sapolicenews.com.au/more-news/23156-two-overnight-robberies-in-smithfield.html#sthash.DofDezS4.dpuf
