Police are investigating following an armed robbery in Charlestown tonight.

Shortly before 9.30pm (Sunday 13 April 2014), two men entered the lobby of a motel on the Pacific Highway.

One of the men was wearing a scarf across his face, and carrying a baseball bat.

The men threatened the 56-year-old female concierge, demanding she hand over money.

After the woman complied, both men left the premises in a car being driven by a third person.

The car is described as being a VT or VS gold-coloured Holden Commodore sedan. It was last seen driving north along the Pacific Highway.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Police from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

They would now like to speak with two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

One is described as being about 178cm tall, with a medium build, and wearing dark clothing.

The second man is described as being about 175cm tall, with a small build, and aged in his early 20s.
