Police are investigating after a hotel in Rockdale was robbed at gunpoint early this morning.

Just after 2am (Wednesday 16 April 2014), staff had just closed a hotel on the Princes Highway, when two men jumped a fence and entered the premises.

The men, who had their faces concealed, threatened staff with a shotgun and demanded cash.

They left after obtaining money and police were contacted

No one was injured in the robbery.

Police from St George Local Area Command arrived a short time later, establishing a crime scene that was examined by forensic specialists.

Both men are described as being about 180cm tall, with a thin build, wearing dark pants and black hooded jumpers.

Inquiries are continuing and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
