Police are investigating an armed robbery at Padstow, in Sydney’s south west.

Two men entered a restaurant on Cahors Road just before 8pm yesterday (Saturday 26 April 2014) with their faces concealed and armed with machetes.

The pair threatened customers and staff before fleeing with a woman’s handbag and money.

No one was injured.

Police were alerted and officers from Bankstown Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

A search of the area was conducted with assistance from the Dog Unit, however the men weren’t found.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or any suspicious behaviour in the area, to come forward.
