Police are investigating after a man attempted to rob a fast food store at Highfields last night.

Shortly before 7.30pm a man entered the New England Highway business carrying a knife and walked through to a back area before opening the till.

A staff member shut the drawer before the man obtained any cash.

The man ran off and got into a car, described as a bluish-white coloured sedan, and was last seen driving north.

No one at the business was physically harmed during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian, 178cm tall, of slim build with blonde hair. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, black trousers, black sunglasses and had a grey scarf covering part of his face.
