Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Penshurst yesterday.

Just before 10pm (Thursday 22 May 2014), a 21-year-old woman was walking to a car at the back of a building on Connolly Street when she was approached from behind by a man.

The man, armed with a knife, demanded the woman’s bag.

A short struggle ensued, when the man assaulted the woman before running from the scene with her bag.

The woman suffered minor injuries.

Officers attached to St George Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene.

As they continue their investigations, they would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 17-20 years old, about 175cm tall and with light eyes.

The man was seen wearing a dark hooded jumper and dark pants.
