A man has been charged over multiple robberies allegedly carried out in Sydney’s west during the past two months.

Officers from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit formed Strike Force Suberous to investigate armed robberies in south-western and north-western Sydney between 16 April 2014 and 12 May 2014.

The 20-year-old man was charged today with eight counts of robbery with an offensive weapon and three counts of having his face blackened/disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The charges relate to the alleged:

• Armed robbery of a service station at Silverwater on Wednesday 16 April 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at Auburn on Thursday 17 April 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at West Ryde on Saturday 19 April 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at Regents Park Tuesday 22 April 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at North Ryde on Saturday 26 April 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at Kenthurst Thursday 1 May 2014;

• Attempted armed robbery of a service station at North Ryde on Monday 5 May 2014;

• Armed robbery of a restaurant at Rouse Hill also on Monday 5 May 2014;

• Attempted armed robbery at of a service station at Ermington on Thursday 8 May 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at McGraths Hill on Friday 9 May 2014;

• Attempted armed robbery of a service station at Dundas on Monday 12 May 2014;

The matters have been listed for mention in Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 10 June 2014.
