Five people have been charged in relation to criminal damage, unlawful entry and traffic offences after a ram raiding incident in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

At about 2.00am yesterday morning, Police received a report of an unlawful entry at a Larapinta business where a vehicle had apparently been used to smash through the doors of a supermarket and gain entry, fleeing the scene prior to Police arrival.

The vehicle of interest was discovered to be a stolen motor vehicle used in an unlawful entry the previous night.

About an hour later, Police located the vehicle and apprehended a number of the occupants as they fled on foot. A further two persons were apprehended at a Sadadeen address early yesterday morning.

Three males aged 18, 16 and 14 are facing charges of;

  • 2 x Aggravated Enter Building Intent Commit Offence
  • 2 x Damage to Property
  • 2 x Stealing
  • 2 x Aggravated Unlawful Use Motor Vehicle
  • 1 x Tresspass

An 18-year-old male and a 14-year-old female have been charged with;

  • 1 x Unlawful Use of Motor Vehicle.

They will face court on the 16th June 2014.

Four female youths, one aged 11, two aged 12 and one aged 13 are being considered for Youth Diversion.
