Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at a shop in Dubbo last night.

About 6pm (Thursday 3 July 2014), an attendant, a 51-year-old woman, was at the counter of a shop on Myall Street, when two men entered the store.

One of the men jumped the counter and threatened the woman with a syringe, the other man, carrying scissors, remained in front of the counter.

The attendant moved away from the men, who then stole a sum of cash before running away.

Police were called and Orana Local Area Command attended commencing an investigation.

A police dog attended, tracking the men for a short distance but was unable to locate them.

Investigators established a crime scene and it was examined by specialist officers.

One man was described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, thin build, and wearing a light blue hoodie with dark blue arms and black tracksuit pants that were rolled up.

The other man was described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, thin build, wearing a red hoodie with blue stripes and dark tracksuit pants.
