Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery which occurred at a supermarket in Footscray West last week.

Detectives from Altona North Embona have been told that two men entered the liquor section of the supermarket on Barkly Street just after 8.30pm on Sunday 29 June.

The men, wearing a pink mask and a green skeleton mask, approached the service counter and threatened staff with a firearm and crow bar before demanding cash.

One of the offenders stole more cash from the storage room and told the victim to lie on the ground before both offenders fled the scene.

One of the bandits is described as wearing a black puffy jacket with diamond stitching.

Police have released CCTV of two men that they believe may be able to assist with our enquiries.
