Police have charged a woman in relation to an attempted robbery at a pharmacy in Orange.

About 6pm on Tuesday 22 July 2014, a woman entered a pharmacy on Sale Street and approached the female shop assistant.

It is alleged the woman produced a box-cutter knife, demanding to be given prescription drugs.

The assistant refused the request and activated an alarm, at which time the alleged offender ran from the shop empty-handed.

Following inquiries, detectives from Canobolas Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a Bletchington Street address yesterday morning (Thursday 31 July 2014).

A 33-year-old woman was arrested about the same time in Kite Street, Orange.

She was taken to Orange Police Station, where she was charged with assault with intent to rob.

The woman appeared in Orange Local Court yesterday, where she was granted conditional bail to face the same court on 25 September 2014.
