Police have released CCTV footage as they renew their appeals for information over two armed robberies in Lakemba.

About 10am on Friday 30 August 2013, two men armed with knives attended a jewellery shop on Haldon Street and threatened the attendants.

The pair later fled the scene with a number of valuables and no one was injured during the incident.

Officers attached to Campsie Local Area Command were contacted and launched an investigation.

Two men wearing white plastic masks entered a second jewellery store about 11am on Wednesday the 16 April 2014.

One of the men was armed with a knife and the other armed with a hammer. The pair fled the location with a display stand with numerous items attached and they were last seen running south along Haldon Street.

Campsie police responded to an alarm activation at the store and a crime scene was established a short time later, which was examined by detectives and specialist officers from the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit.

Investigators arrested a 15-year-old girl, who police will allege in court had assisted the males in gaining access to the premises.

She has been charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and was granted bail to appear at a children’s court on 27 August 2014.

About 6pm the same day, an 18-year-old man was arrested and taken to Campsie Police Station.

During a subsequent search, police located jewellery in the man’s shoe. He was later charged with robbery with offensive weapon and refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on 18 August 2014.

Police are continuing their investigations into both robberies, which they believe may be linked, and have now released CCTV footage of two men, who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The first man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 170 -180cm tall, between 18 and 25-years-old and with a skinny build.

He is shown in the images wearing a black hooded jumper with ‘Luxury’ written on the front in yellow, black track pants and a black balaclava.

The second man is also described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 165 – 170cm tall with a solid build.

He is shown wearing a black hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants and a black balaclava.
