Cash has been stolen during the armed robbery of a bottle shop in Westmead overnight.

Police have been told a man, armed with a shotgun, entered the business on Hawkesbury Road about 11pm (Thursday 7 August 2014), and demanded cash.

The 50-year-old male employee handed over cash and the man ran from the store; he was last seen heading south along Hawkesbury Road.

Police wish to speak with a man they believe can assist with the investigation.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall with a thin build. At the time he was wearing a black zip-up hooded jacket, navy blue tracksuit pants with white Nike sneakers. His face was covered with a blue/white chequered scarf.
