Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store in Nerang yesterday.

At about 4.30pm, a man wearing a motorcycle helmet has entered the store on Adalong Place.

The shop attendant asked the man to remove his helmet, but the man refused.

The man has then produced a handgun and demanded the attendant empty the till into a bag.

The attendant complied, and the man fled the store with the bag and left on a motorcycle.

A number of people were in the shop at the time but no one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.

The man had on a blue full-faced motorcycle helmet with a clear visor and he is described as being Caucasian in appearance, with a muscular build and dark brown hair.

His motorcycle was described as a blue Suzuki road bike with yellow markings on the front.

Investigations are continuing.
