Detectives at Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a milk bar in Sebastopol this morning.

Police have been told a man armed with a knife entered the milk bar on Albert Street and was found by the owner behind the counter around 7.20am.

It is believed the offender stole cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

He has been described as Caucasian in appearance, 180cm tall with a thin build and was wearing black clothing at the time of the incident.
