Armed Crime Squad detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a hotel in Eltham earlier this month.

Police have been told a man armed with a firearm entered the venue on Main Road and approached the attendant in the gaming room around 7.20pm on Thursday 7 August.

It is believed the bandit jumped the counter and demanded cash before assaulting the staff member.

The offender stole a substantial amount of cash and was last seen running through the car park.

He has been described as Caucasian in appearance, 30 to 40-years-old, 170cm tall with a solid build and spoke with an Australian accent.

He was wearing a black balaclava, yellow jacket with a .hood and small emblem on the left and black and brown shoes.

Detectives are keen to speak to any witnesses and have released images of a man that may assist with their enquiries.
