Police remain at the scene of a Granville hotel, after it was robbed at gunpoint today.

Just before 12.30pm (Thursday 28 August 2014), a man armed with a handgun entered the hotel on Parramatta Road and threatened staff.

After being given cash, the man fled from the hotel.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.

Officers from Rosehill Local Area Command attended and secured a crime scene that is being examined by forensic specialists.

The man is described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, about 170cm tall, with a thin build.

He was wearing a black hooded jumper underneath a fluorescent yellow jumper with black sleeves and dark pants.

Inquiries continue.
