A man will face court following an alleged armed robbery of a newsagency in Hoxton Park today.
About 12pm (Tuesday 2 September 2014), a man allegedly armed with a knife entered a newsagency on Hoxton Park Road.
Police have been told an employee and a customer ran from the store, before the man allegedly took cash and cigarettes and fled the scene.
Officers attached to Green Valley Local Area Command patrolling the area stopped the man a short distance away from the newsagency and questioned him.
After police allegedly located a knife, cash and cigarettes on the 24-year-old man, he was arrested at the scene and taken to Green Valley Police Station.
The man was charged with robbery whilst armed with offensive implement and refused bail, to appear at Liverpool Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 3 September 2014).
