Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a hotel at Corindi Beach, north of Coffs Harbour overnight.

About 9.10pm (Wednesday 3 September 2014), two staff members – one male and one female – were at the hotel on Tasman Street, after closing up at 9pm.

Police have been told two men who had their faces concealed smashed a glass door and ran inside armed with a shotgun.

They threatened the male staff member with the weapon, demanding cash. He complied and the armed men left the scene.

No one was injured and no shots were fired.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command attended and secured a crime scene that was examined by forensic specialists.

They are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
