Police are appealing for information after a taxi driver was robbed in Walgett last night.
About 8.20pm (Saturday 6 September 2014), a 62-year-old taxi driver picked up two men outside a home on Dewhurst Street, Walgett.
Police have been told the men directed the driver to take them to Namoi Village.
As the man drove along George Sands Way, one of the passengers asked him to stop the car, before the pair threatened him with a knife, demanding money.
The men fled the scene a short time later with cash, a wallet, and a mobile phone.
The driver was uninjured during the incident.
Officers attached to Castlereagh Local Area Command were called and commenced investigations.
They are appealing for anyone with information, or anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
