Police are appealing for public information following three armed robberies in Bonnyrigg Heights, Cabramatta and Prairiewood overnight, which are believed to be linked.
About 12am (Wednesday 8 October 2014), police were called to a service station on Cowpasture Road, Bonnyrigg Heights, responding to reports of a robbery at a service station.
Police have been told two men – one armed with a knife and handgun and the second armed with a metal bar – smashed the window of a service station with the metal bar, before entering the store and threatening a male employee, demanding money.
The pair ran from the scene a short time later taking cash. The male employee was uninjured during the incident.
Just after 2.30am, police were called to a service station on the Cumberland Highway, Cabramatta, following reports three men – one armed with a hand gun and one armed with a metal bar – smashed the front windows of the premises.
The men took cash and ran from the scene a short time later. The male staff member of the service station was uninjured.
About 3am, police received reports three people had entered a service station on Smithfield Road, Prairiewood, one armed with a handgun and the other two armed with metal poles.
No one was injured during the incident; however the trio drove from the scene taking cash and cigarettes.
Officers attached to Fairfield and Cabramatta Local Area Commands were alerted of all three incidents, which are believed to be linked.
As they continue their investigations, police would like to speak to three men who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
The first is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, and of medium build. He was seen wearing a black hooded jumper with white writing on the front, black track suit pants, black shoes with white stripes, and a black backpack with a purple flower print.
The second man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance and of solid build. He was seen wearing a grey hooded jumper with a black print on the front, black football shorts with yellow and white on the sides, and black and white casual shoes.
The third man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, and of medium build. He was seen wearing a white singlet, blue shorts, a black cap and black running shoes.
