Police are appealing for information from the public after an armed robbery at Villawood overnight.

About 8pm, (Thursday 9 October 2014) police were called to a hotel on Woodville Road after a man, armed with a handgun, entered the hotel and demanded money from the 22-year-old employee.

The staff member complied and the man was last seen running north along Kamria Street, with a second man who was waiting outside.

No one was injured.

A crime scene has been established and police are appealing for information from the public.

The first man has been described to police as Pacific Islander in appearance, 20-24 years of age, 175cm tall, with a goatee beard and wearing a green high visibility jacket. He also had a tribal tattoo on his left arm.

The second man has only been described as also wearing a green high visibility vest.
