Police have charged a 28-year-old man in relation to the attempted armed robbery of a convenience store in Pialba overnight.
It will be alleged around 8.40pm, the man has entered a store on Harbour Drive and threatened a male store attendant with a knife.
It will be further alleged the man has then fled the store and was located a short time later by police and taken into custody.
No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.
The man is also alleged to have been involved in the theft of cigarettes from the same store earlier in the evening.
A 28-year-old Berserker man was charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery and stealing.
He is due to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today.
