Police have charged a 29-year-old man following investigations into the armed robbery of a Zillmere supermarket tonight.

It will be alleged that around 8.20pm, a man entered the Handford Road business and approached a female employee, intimated that he was armed, and made demands for cash.

The female employee complied and the man left the store with a quantity of cash.

The employee was not physically injured during the incident.

The 29-year-old Morayfield man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and possession of utensils is due to appear in the Pine River’s Magistrates Court today.
